Antenna conversion kit
Glad it finally worked out for you. I must agree that the instructions were not very helpful and I also called the the Company and talked to a “Technical” person that was not very helpful either.
I as finally able to remove the mast and cable. After removing the antenna nut, I unplugged the power to the antenna motor turned the key on and off and then plugged it back in, turned the key on and it came out. I then disconnected the power to the antenna motor and left it in place. With the antenna nut off, the supplied sleeve went right in and the rest of the installation was very easy and works very well for reception in my area. I really like the updated look it gave my SC430.

Thanks for your reply and reminding me the sleeve provided is a very important piece as when it's inserted into top of tube I described, insures proper connection internally.
All's well that ends well. Not only is reception just as good, appearance of stubby updates the look of our beloved SC's 😉

It is as easy as described, thinking of disconnecting the power to the old unit's motor which is still in place; not sure if this will cause any other issues; I'll take a pic and post up
