Looks like they are getting very hard to find. I bought mine several year ago off eBay for about $70. Can't find any listings now. I tried several places and nothing.
Best bet is to keep searching for 998T BitWriter. You want to get one with V 2.7 and up.
It is a handheld device used to set programming options in various Directed Electronics devices, like Viper remote starter systems. DEI BitWriter 998T
I used it on a Viper 4704 Remote Starter system that I installed on my SC430 a few years ago to set the timing for the top open and close commands.
Here is a link to the Pictorial on it : https://www.the12volt.com/installbay...asp?tid=131859
Looks like Directed Electronics has gone to the XKLoader3 to replace the functions of the BitWriter. The big problem with that is you must be an authorized DEI dealer to access their WEB site to use the XKLoader3. For more info go to YouTube and search " Lessco Electronics XK Loader3 review ". Link below. Pretty much says it all. There are some XKLoader3 videos from DEI SnakePit on its' use as a BitWriter, too. They just leave out the part about needing a Dealer logon and password.
