Here is my follow up to my original question. I purchased a new starter from a local auto parts store. I watched a youtube video on accessing the starter. I changed the starter in my drive way. I had the help of my wife removing and installing the manifold. Upon starting the car the first time there was a noticeable increase in starter rpm and the car started without hesitation. No issues since. I know I saved a bunch of money changing the starter myself, but it took longer than expected. Thank you for all the responses and the video.
