Front speakers

Installed them myself. Trickiest part is taking apart the door cover without breaking the plastic pieces for handle/lock actuators. After that only 4 screws for speakers.
They dropped right in. I used the metra mount and some weather foam from home depot. I did not want to disassemble the original mount as wanted to keep those speakers intact. Also used the solderless metra connectors.
No pics Took a single photo but ended up getting deleted when my phone screen had to be replaced this week.

Great info thanks! I just left the audio shop and they wanted $500 to replace the front door speakers with no name speakers. Would you mind sending me or posting the amazon links for the DS18 PRO-X698? When i searched amazon there are a number of options and I don't want the get the wrong ones. If you have the links to the mount and connectors that would be great as well!! Again thank you very much for the info.
I also have to change out the sub behind the back seat of you have recommendations?
D) get the DS18 PRO-X698 BM:
They supposedly "dropped" this 4th of July weekend to replace the DS18 MB69 that people had used to replace SC430 speakers in the past. I picked two up while their price was $38.92 each (now $62.95 each). you also need the Metra 82-8146 mount and the Metra 72-8104 connector (to make your life easier).
They are 3x louder then the original speakers in my car and have a clear sound, the sound is also very balanced. It cleared the window with no problem (no spacer needed) using the metra mount.

if they still make sound, you can easily repair the foam outer ring for $20.

They don't make any sound at all. The previous owner told me they blew a year or so ago. He was older guy and didn't care about music. The car is a 2002 so I am sure with age they just deteriorated.
