"The Toyota and Lexus vehicles were recalled previously and the inflators were replaced with new ones that still used ammonium nitrate. In the latest recall, Toyota will use inflators made by another company with a safer chemical."
Sounds like a new round of replacements of the previously replaced inflators.

Is this another total recall (no reference to the movie...)? So are they likely to begin sending out notices again?

Sorry Mark, I misunderstood the subject. Did not click on the link. You are talking about the new airbag recall, I haven’t heard anything. Right, I forgot, I have an 07 SC.

The news story I just saw on television said the 2002-2005 SC430s were included in the recall. And (as has previously been said in this chain) this new recall is for vehicles that have already had their inflators replaced once (!) According to the Lexus Service History on my car, the inflator(s) were inspected and replaced back in October 2013, so it looks like I'll need to take it in for another go at it.

Hi All--
Does this mean they are replacing the Driver Airbag and the Passenger sides? Mine where done for the first re-call by the first owner per my service records.
I believe the Lexus L logo is part of the Driver side Airbag? So new Logo too? I ended up taking of the plastic chrome since mine was peeling away!
