Navigation Function Issues and screen has hairlines
2004 PB Edition.
After the repair shop replaced my ac condenser, for which he had to pull the whole dash out,
1. my GPS unit, does not TILT out. The guy won't fix it. Any ideas what to do besides sue him.
2. The screen is all crackily-- not his fault-- was getting like that over the last few months
All advice welcome

its possible the tilt motor went bad, I just replaced mine...pretty simple job.
if your interested and it is the motor, it is a $10 fix...read on...

those are not cracks in the screen. Those are in the screen film. The film is used for glare reduction if I recall correctly. I think a guy named Retroplay explained the film.
My first NAV screen had this problem and several others...I ended up purchasing a used NAV screen assembly on eBay...

Those navigation unit tilt/open motors are problematic...mine worked intermittently so I sent it off to a place in CA (http://www.hitechserv.com/) to be fixed. In the meantime I purchased one off eBay (thanks Bgw70 for the advice) and haven't had a problem since. Still have my original in the box in case this one quits working. Even purchased the radio cover door assembly off eBay and that works, too. I actually close it when parked when I'm out and about downtown. I probably use that more than the nav which I haven't opened in a while.
