I’ve been working to trade off and on all week between Colorado’s monsoon weather. Good to know car salesmen haven’t changed! Lol
I’m asking $27k for our SC430 if I can’t get a trade done next week.
Thanks for all the good ideas! I’ll let you know how it ends!

I would bet the dealership offering will be somewhere between $15,000 and $16,000 tops. Private sale $17,500 to $18,000. Dealership sale $21,000 to $21,500 tops. For a few dollars more you could buy a 2010.

If 20K was the asking price on a private sale, I think the car
would be sold quickly. I would even buy the car sight unseen.

But at 27K, that might take a long time.

The SC being that it has been discontinued does have
a very strong car buyer following especially a clean white pearl
low mileage car..

Here in this part of Colorado about 24k is top dollar for it. Only About 2,700 miles put on it since you bought it five years ago. I can see why it's time to let it go. It's the reason we got rid of ours, kept driving it less and less. Do you have service records for it from any part of its life? There's a real lack of records for this car through its life on carfax.

Asking and getting can be two very different things.

I understand what you are saying and I am not say that his 2006 SC 430 which we all believe is a cream puff and it very well might bring $27K. But there is a process that management goes through when making a decision. In order to achieve the goal that one seeks the decision must be decisive, it must be realistic and it must be attainable. The decision to ask $27,000 for a 2006 SC 430 is decisive but I question weather it is realistic or attainable. Again that is not to say that a 2006 SC 430 with 27K on the clock is not worth it but I am guessing the decision to ask that amount is neither realistic or attainable. Time will tell.

“As they say, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder “

We are all SC fans so we might not be clear what these cars
are really worth but to a typical Joe, I agree
27K for a 12 year old car is a lot of money.

Having said that, I would gladly pay 20K sight unseen
for this SC but 27K is way off

just curious, are those dollar figures retail, trade in or what the dealer would sell for after negotiating?

In doing the research on a 06 SC430 with 27k on the clock in excellent shape which we believe this SC is and in the Denver area a person should expect to get something in the 15-16 k mark on trade in. Again in the Denver area a private sale should bring 17-18 K and a dealership would generally be asking somewhere in 21-22 K mark. I am sure there is some wiggle room but I don't see 10K on a private sale. It might happen but the seller has so narrowed the field of folks willing to buy a 12 year old car for $27K that the possibilities are neither realistic nor attainable.
