Yes I know how to format a hard drive. It is only a 160GB HD so I am not going to partition . Thanks for the link.

Took the laptop down to my sisters .04 miles from my house. She said that the IT guy at her company which she still works for never laid hands on this Dell Inspiron mini. There is no security protocol on it that should stop me from logging onto Java or for that mater Club Lexus. I am going to just wait until my cable and software get here next week and see what it does when I try to hook it up to the LS.

Yes, something is not right when you said you can connect to other sites but not Lexus.com. All I can think is your setting in Internet Explorer or Chrome security might has something to do with this. Go to your browser setting, security tab, look for unusual setting. Also check your anti virus software, you might have a rectriction there too.

It does not have any virus software on it at this time. Also no Chrome security (don't even use Google search) not a Google fan.

have you or anyone here successfully loaded TechStream on a 64bit machine?
if so, do you have a link to the driver or can you share the driver file in the cloud and share it to all for a short period of time.

there is a mongoose J2534 64bit driver out there, and the cable looks like ours but I haven’t been able to download it and try it out...fingers crossed, but I think the only type that will work with our cable is the VMCI driver.

BGW and guys,
Yes and yes, Techstream does work on Win 10, Win 8 or XP 64 bit. For Win10 you need later software version 8 or higher.
After I gave the XP version to my brother and bought a Yueku Mini VCI J2534, latest software version 13.00.22, firmware 2.0.4, for Win 10 and it costs $56.99
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BMPYS4S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BMPYS4S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
, I think the price is coming down now.

The installation is straight forward, but it would not connect to the car (unable to connect to VIM).
No instruction how to modify the registry included. Searched the net, I found the instruction but the process is complicated since it involved to modify the registry using C:/ command and adding and removing files.
I then contacted the seller Yueku and they helped me to install via TeamViewer software. Now everything is OK.

So, again, Techstream does work with Win 10.

Bottom line, if you have Window XP, the older version work fine, if you have Win10, you need newer version.

Dennis,
I don't know what to tell you. Worse case, do like mnewxcv did, forget you Del, purchase an old notebook with Win XP.

a big thanks GmanSC! I went to the amazon webpage and was reading reviews when I found this one...he said this is what they did to his computer.

Did not work with windows 10 64 bit as advertised
Via a program called "team viewer" they ad a virtual machine running windows xp to get it to work. Even then, Live data wouldn't stream and many of the utility features, like brake bleeding, doesn't work.

Guys,
I have the software 13.00.02, the Keygen file, and the VMCI file on the mini disk. How do I share them to you?
BGW mention using the Cloud. I have ICloud, so how do I do ?

No, not it. I read what you read. I tried the virtual machine route myself, it doesn't work, (well it does, but stupid).
What the seller Yueku did was modifiy the registry, adding some files. I watched him on Teamviewer. No virtual machine.
Here is the link if you want to do it by yourself. I tried but get fustrated and gave up.

i wish I was more knowledgeable about the cloud, I am sure you know how to put it up there, then there must be a way to share the files with anyone. I will look around.

i do want to say THANK YOU!!! For posting those threads about setting up the VMCI driver in 32bit machine!
this thread is very valuable thank to you!
