Thanks
how do I measure that exactly?

how much bigger is the hyundai tire?

I googled SC430 Spare and found these pictures. The tire extends past the trunk rim, so as BGW said, there is no EASY way to measure how much more clearance there is, unless you get into the trunk.

I guess I'm on my own.
I was thinking, checking the bottom if the tire reaches the floor.
At top, put an inch thick something (a banana or grape in a napkin maybe), on top of spare, set trunk lid down and see if it touches, before it laches. (or squishes banana or grape). Just a thought.
I don't know anyone that owns an sc430.

i can tell you the tire sits on the floor of the trunk.

if you use the tire calculator and find two tires measuring the same height, it will fit. The center will be in the same spot.

My question, how much space is there for the trunk closed with a 17" ? I was thinking on getting one but, could any of you with a 17" spare, measure?
I know the tire height comes into play, it's a 135/80/18
Where were you going to purchase the spare from?
Craigslist, eBay, tire store?

Thinking Craigslist, to pick it up. That's if I find one, but I need to know if it would fit first ofcourse.
But I'm open to whatever i find, I'm running 19's so I'm thinking the closer the size the better, I've found plenty 16" and 17". Yes I know my options, rx8 etc.
I've contacted sellers from "letgo" but the times to meet don't work out etc, etc.

if they are local, just drive over and see if it fits.
how much taller are your 19” tires vs OEM...using the tire calculator?
the spare size you listed is 1.5” taller than OEM.

Well, I bought an 18" wheel from a 2012 Mitsubishi lancer for $20, test fit on the car and in the trunk. I only tried it at front, left side and drove around the block.
I'm rolling on 19" and lowered, I use hubcentric rings for my 19" wheels, I had to remove the rings to put the spare and used the stock lug nuts but I think I'm going to have to get a-corn lug nuts.
I'm going to get a cover for the spare and part of the kit/parts that BGW used on his to store it right in the trunk.
Well, now I have a peace of mind when driving to work (36 miles x2) thru the cayons.

Pretty sure I read somewhere on this forum that the later model Camry donut spare works on the SC430 (yes, I know the tire is a 155 instead of 145). Before I reserve a 2015 Camry donut spare, can someone confirm the rim is compatible?

Thanks in advance
others talk of using a Camry spare in this thread...look on the last page...or most recent posts.
