Default Panel lights won’t turn off.

I own 2002 Lexus SC 430. By accident I locked my keys in the car while the car was running. When my friend got the door unlock the security system went off. I turned the car off and the security system and everything seemed fine. About 10 minutes later I restarted the car and my panel lights i.e. Vsc light, vsc off light, brake light, abs light and check engine light. I have absolutely no use of these items. on and I cannot get them to turn off. I tried disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes but that did not change anything. I would greatly appreciate any help someone might give me. Thank you in advance.

There are several threads on this topic, please use the search feature. The procedure involves shorting a couple of pins in the OBDII port.

If you end up taking it to the dealer, it would be great if you could circle back and tell us what they charged you. This would be good info for future reference.

I forgot to mention that I have no availability to use my abs, vcs, Vsc, check engine light is on, etc. Is there anything that you can add to your last replay?

Landman, this is very common problem on Pre 06 SC. If you can’t build the simple tool or shorting the two pins with the paper clip then the only thing for you is take your SC to the mechanic or dealer so they can reset it for you. Let us know how much they charge for this job.

Are you still having your original problem from 2018?

Or did the problem come back?

If your CHECK ENGINE LIGHT is on, you have a physical problem problem that needs to be addressed.

If just the other lights are on, then the paperclip trick might work
