Default Radio Lights and Navigation Buttons do not stay on

Hello everyone!
I was wondering if any of you had this issue before, where the "Radio/Navigation buttons do not stay light up". They work fine but, they go off. Sometimes they do come on, but they quickly go off again...
The seat warmers lights also do not stay on. This happens when I turn the dash lights on as it is dark here in NJ after 4pm.

Could it be a Fuse going bad? I recently purchased this 2002 SC 430 with 152, 800 miles so it which came this way. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

it cannot be a fuse...fuses are either good or bad.

sounds like a loose connection or possibly a relay.

could be more than one problem.

Do you have anything on your dash? There is a little sensor up there that adjusts the lights.

If you have a dashmat, or a parking sticker, or a phone mount or something, that could be effecting it.

If I were to guess, I would say your lights and your seat heaters are two different issues.

Another thing to check is your dimmer switch. It could be flakey and the resistance is bouncing around. This could happen especially if you live in a humid environment.

if you just remove the switch, your lights will be at full brightness. Easy check.

I think you guys are correct, it must be a bad connection or my sensor\light dimmer in my dash is no longer working properly. This last time I used it, they stayed longer but went off again in the radio. Annoying, they go off on the navigation pannel as well, but everything works, just the button lights go off. Its probably the dimmer...

Thank you guys. Looks like I have to bring my tools out. Happy Holidays & Blessings.

I think there is a way to make the lights full on all the time. I want to say there is a **** on the left hand side of your steering wheel. It has been a long time, so I may be wrong

It is the round **** ^ all by itself

Yeah, I think this is what is faulty since it looks very used, plus I get current and suddenly the lights go off on the buttons, it may be this little dimmer.
I googled it and its $26! beans, crap lol. I do not have any other things connected. I will tampered with it this weekend since the car is parked until winter is over
Thanks for your insight.

you could try spraying the rheostat or dimmer switch with this product. Remove the **** and spray the heck out of it.

That's a good idea BGW.

People on youtube also say you can use it to fix the volume **** on your radio. I think the method would work equally well.

You can also buy it at your local auto parts store in case you don't want to wait for shipping.
