DRL LED disaster
So I bough this item from Amazon.
Have my trusted mechanic installed them into my 07 SC. The guy charged me 20 dollars for the installation. After the lights were in, the car would not start. It cranked over but the park plugs would not fire. The diagnosis tool would not communicate with the car. It took the mechanic good hour to figure out what was wrong. Two fuses in the passenger side fuse box were blown: no. 2 and no 7. He replaced the fuses and reinstalled the old HIDs back to the head lights. Everything was back to normal. The good thing was the mechanic didn't charge any extra. Just 20 bucks.
I know some of you guys have installed the DRL LEDs to the high beams. What brand did you use? Any problem? I'd like to have the infos. Thanks.

Based on the Ad you are showing, it looks like the LED's tie into the car's computer system. The ad says CAN BUS which is a car network https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAN_bus
If that is the case, it would kind of explain why your car's computer fuses were blown

Use www.ijdmtoy.com. Best stuff. Great warranty. Always works for me. All my leds are from them. For the DRL, you will need the decoder boxes. As a side note, no idea how the headlights would cause your car not to start. Something sounds fishy to me. Maybe the mechanic arc'd something during the installation.

If you're replacing a bulb that pulls double-duty as a Headlight and a DRL, then you're always going to need something to help deal with the vehicle's computer/electrical systems: a CANBUS fix (PWM anti-flicker module, error canceller, everyone calls them different things) will help deal with these issues. The fact that those LEDs managed to blow fuses for you is a bit concerning, but you can probably find an alternative that will work better for you.
We have 9005 LED Kits and 9005 LED CMBs (colour-matching bulbs) that you might be interested in - you would need to pick the 'with CANBUS' or 'with DRL' option to get the extra modules, though. The Kits are designed to be an overall upgrade, but the CMBs are more of a cosmetic thing for colour-matching purposes - they are more commonly used in Fog Lights, because they are less bright, but we also have them in a 9005 bulb fitment.
