Default 2002 SC430 rear strut fitment experience

I ordered 2 new rear struts listed for 2000 GS300/GS400 (same for 2002 GS300) from partsgeek.com and had a shop to install them on my 2002 SC430.

Unfortunately, they are a little too long by 0.5-1" so they don't fit. Note that I have the Toyota TRD lowering springs, which lower the car by 1" than the OEM springs. These TRD lowering springs are shorter than the OEM springs.

Therefore, the GS300 rear struts may just fit the OEM springs, but I cannot be sure without actually installing them on the OEM springs.

....someone in a another thread, had issues with the spring seat, but I'm not sure if their Sc was lowered......so that might be something to look into. I replaced my rears with Bilstein Sports for the 2000 Gs300 & had no issues.

Also I'm lowered about 1.5 in, on Tein Sport springs......this pic shows them mounted under the car,I did my install in 2013

The spring seat looked good to me. Just the GS300 rear struts are a bit too long for the TRD lowering springs.

....so when you say "too long", have they been compressed any or all the way ? They may need a little pressure/weight on them....just a thought

No pressure was applied.

The tech says the springs have to sit tight in the seats before any pressure so they won't pop out when hitting bumps on the road.
