Do I park my Lexus SC away from civilization? I park SO far away that I might as well leave it in the garage and walk to my destination. And no, I'm not joking.

Lexuseffect

That would mean in the year 2090, your SC will still be in
mint condition :)

but why have a strong horse if it never comes out of the
stable ?

I do not have a luxury to choose the parking space. I live near Littlle Saigon, the parking spaces here are like pot of gold, you're lucky if you can find one, especially on the weekend, not to mention that they are so narrow. I really hate that but what can you do? I guess Chinatown in San Francisco or New York is probably the same.

I am accused of parking in the next zip code I park so far away. I rarely take my SC to the Mall or places like that. I have a 2002 es300 and 20 yr old pick up for that. (The pick up is near mint though,)

We are all alike. Gets me in trouble with the wifey. When I drive, I let her get off close to the destination and then I disappear and park in Timbuktu.

Here’s the problem – when it is time to leave, I tell her, wait 15 minutes, I have to fly out to Timbuktu and get the car. Otherwise, I plan ahead and tell her, to meet me at the gutter in xx minutes and I shall chauffeur her to the next destination. Repeat cycle, rinse, dry and fold.

Hence the wifey drives the car with the most dings and scratches (non-Lexus). She parks where she wants! I do not complain. Ok, just a little bit when I see a new ding...

I would do the same! Except I will park opposite of where you are.

Reason: If ever there was an Ahole parking right beside you, they would be getting off the other side. Then again if they true aholes, you have lost already. At least there was an attempt to mitigate a dent. Peace of mind.

This thread is hilarious. I may ask my wife to read it so she can see I'm not the only maniac that will do whatever it takes to keep his car ding free.

Never at walmart... always look for the end spot or I go to the back ... do my shopping during the week... my sc has a few chips off the front and one small almost invisible ding on passenger side that was on there when I bought the car... for me I consider the car my only child......I first called mine Fruits cause it was from the fruits of my labor then female cousin said 'Peach' is a fruit so now Peach has stuck... makes it a little more personal...and like many have said on the forum...you dont own the car, the car owns you... I have found this to be true...may your top always go up and down...
