Default DC Gold 6x9's

Just received my 6x9's today and I'm really excited to get these installed ASAP.

Laurie and David are very professional and cordial from beginning to end. Laurie's ETA on the delivery was spot on and the packaging was snug. The speakers feel solid, built with quality and care. I hope to get a clip of these speakers in action as soon as they're installed.

I should have gone to these speakers, if you do not mind, how much did it set you back?

It was $376.27 for the pair including a 10% discount! A little pricey, but I'd rather pay extra for quality. And, they're a mom and pop store, so I can definitely support that.

The Rockford Fosgates were of course cheaper but they were 6.5's. I am ok with it but I am sure the 6x9 would be a lot better.

Not sure why you would think they 6x9 would be better.

Speaker dimensions determine the longest wavelength it can produce. So the longest wave length on 6.5 is 13' and on 6x9 is 18'. That means the 6x9 would have a lower frequency limit thus a broader range of sound.

I know I will not get a lot of love for what I am going to say but here goes. I was in the audio industry for years. You have no idea what you are talking about. This is why forums can be such a bad idea. That is so far from being true that I will not even offer an explanation.

I apologize for getting a bit too technical in my post. I do not know which side of audio industry you were in but I was in speaker design. There is some basic physics that governs the speaker performance. And if you do not know how to do a Fourier transform or never heard of it then its too technical for you to understand its design principles. All you have to know is that larger speakers generally have better performance potential and cost more.

Makes absolute sense, that's what I miss on the transition from 6x9 to the 6.5's. Now I know I was right.

Havn't had time this weekend....I had food poisoning this past weekend. I may try to get it installed this weekend; however, I'll be out of the country next week.

Sadly, I'm not a DIY'er, so I'm gonna have to pay someone to get these babies installed

I would be willing to dump my 6.5 round to the 6x9's. Tell me which ones...
