If you can afford, take the 2007 PB.

I like the 2007 OB color combo....I will go for it and it seem the 2007 will has less trouble than the 2002 (both mechanical & title issue)

Thanks for all of your input
It looks like the Red 2002 SC430 was a possible scam, Sister is not available to sign off on the title???
A friend of mine just sent me this link, the price seems good ???? The used car dealer-ship is willing to drop it off at the local Lexus dealer to have them inspect it ... My cost of $140 for an inspection. What is your professional SC430 opinion on this one?

2006 Lexus SC 430

Yes, the price seems good. Before you spend $140 for PPI you need to do two things: Carfax/Autocheck and Lexus service record. The first item usually available from the seller, especially if its a dealership and the second item is also free---you get the VIN and register on Lexus website to check its service history.

Looks like it could be somewhat rough shape, from the one photo, but the price is very low, so you'd expect it to not be "like new." You'll want to make sure the timing belt has been changed (due at 90K miles or 9 years). If not, you can have it done by an independent garage for around $700 or by Lexus for around $1300 (be sure to use that as a bargaining chip if it hasn't been done).

I just looked at all the photos on the dealer's web site. It actually looks pretty good for the miles (in the photos). The CarFax doesn't tell you much. The Lexus service records will be more useful, once you've registered at MyLexus.com... Note that the open Air Bag recall can be done for free at any Lexus dealer, so that's a non-issue. I wouldn't be too worried about the miles, if the interior and exterior have been cared for. Good luck!

1 for the 2006 SC. Silver is a classic color. 2006 and up have the new trim, new sound system.

Does it have the LED tails as well? I think they do. I love the rims as well.

If accident free and paint is still good, go for it!

Good luck.

I've owned a 2002 and a facelift model. Get the 06. It's smoother, better MPG, and faster off the line. Resale value is higher. The 06 transmission is also tougher than the 2002-05. Sound system and navigation is better on the 06. LED taillights and swiveling headlights are also on the 06.

Seeing as my 2002 SC430 was $10,999 with 104k you're getting a significantly newer vehicle for $2k more. Granted, the timing belt may need changing but that's not a big deal. Plus, they're open to having it inspected by the dealer which is a bonus. Speaking of the dealer, I'm having my '02 checked out by the dealer this Thursday. There isn't anything wrong with the car, but I've been going there for years and they catch a lot of stuff like wear & tear items before they become a problem.

Here is my car being warmed up this morning

I also have a 1999 GS400, same color. I'm a big fan of silver!

Sound system and navigation is the same on the 2005 and 2006. The navigation generation changed in 2007.

I just purchased an 02 sc430 White/Ecru interior 120k miles serviced with private mechanic...Was on the fence with an 06 silver/black with 75k miles serviced at lexus...Went with the 02 to save over $11,000 and after reading through the forums I was glad I saved the money...Amazing car and I enjoy it every day!
