I have a C1561 code. It comes out to be a Malfunction In PPS Solenoid Circuit?
Any idea what it means?

I'm not sure if the one on the sc430 has a filter screen in the solenoid. If it does, the solution could be as simple as cleaning that screen. I was looking to see if I could find that information, but couldn't seem to come up with an answer. Maybe bgw can look in the manual and see if it does.

Thanks Cole,
I changed the solenoid in my power steering because I thought it was leaking. I did not reset the codes. This goes along with the second half of the link you set. It is weird because it is an active code.
Even after the change, I still have the problem. The car is harder to turn when I am going less than a mile an hour.
I guess I have to get under it and see if the harness came loose.

I changed the hoses when I changed the rest of the vacuum lines. I recall having a little problem getting in the tight space. Maybe I didn't connect them as well as I thought.

Well, things have gotten worse. Yesterday I started hearing a screeching, metal on metal sound when I turn the wheel all the way. It happens if I turn it left or right. It is also harder to turn the wheel when I am stopped, though it is not as hard as a car without power steering.
The power steering fluid is at the proper level.
The Vacuum lines are properly attached
The solenoid does not appear to be leaking
Any idea what the screeching noise may be?

If everything is connected, I suppose you could have a bad PS pump.
have you ever changed the fluid?
