Hello,

Anyone know a good spec setup for an SC430 for Volk TE37 rims? I am thinking 19 or 18 with an offset on the front of 35 and 22 in the rear.

....so what width of rims are you talking about ? This will help in determining what offset you need to purchase & what kind of stance/look are you shooting for ?

I am a total newbie to understanding wheel technical specs and looking for advice from SC owners that already know the best tech specs for aftermarket wheels. I am looking at the following.

front - 8.0" to 8.5"

rear - 9.0" to 9.5"

I spoke with a local wheel shop here in WA and he mentioned I could work with these numbers

....if you go with a 18 x 9.5 on the rear, the +22 will be fine. It will give you more of a flush look or fill the fender wells better than stock. If you go with the +40 on the front, it will almost be like running the stock wheel, you could get an offset in the twenties also & be fine. I'm running 18 x 8.5 front & 18 x 9.5 rear.....I know my offsets are 20 & 25, but can't remember which is front & rear. If I don't forget, I'll check them tomorrow when I get home from work & let you know.

I am looking for a more concave look if possible. The guy at the local wheel shop said if I go with 22's or a more negative offset it should be okay. Or I could go with 20" rims and move with an offset that will look more concave. He also told me that the rear wheels will look more concave than the front because I need to protect the steering and shock components the wheel may rub or come in contact with under the car.

I am still unsure of the best technical setup because once I buy the wheels there is no going back to change them. I will wait for your comments on your wheels. I appreciate you sharing.

In the end I would like the wheels to be concave, staggered, and maybe 18's in the front and 19's in the rear.

....it really doesn't matter if the wheel is concave or has a lip, the offset & rim width will determine how the wheel sits under the car. I can't say what setup everyone is using on the forum, but if you look at some of the wheel threads, then you can get an idea of what different people are doing. If you do any offsets in the 30's or 40's, you'll be fine, but might not have the look you're wanting. Alot of the guys here, that went staggered setups (whether the wheels were concave or not), did offsets in the mid-low 20's. I'm just getting home so didn't have a chance to check my offsets, but I'll check tomorrow evening & do a search on some of the most common setups here on CL

If you're stock height, I would probably do 18x8.5 +22 and 18x9.5 +22 and that should come close to the fenders.

For lowered, I've seen SC430 go aggressive as 19x9.5 +22 and 19x10.5 +22.

my car is stock height. The setup you shared is within what I was thinking. I am just a novice and do not want to buy wheels that will not fit. I will start a thread and take a census on wheel fitment. Looks like you are in the wheel biz. Maybe I will call you for more advice. Thanks

I would probably run 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 but with that size tires, you would definitely need some fender work and done. Also, I hope you're lowered so that some natural camber can take into play in helping with some clearance.

Thank you I am lowered on coils and have SPC front arms my understanding is SC430s fenders are tricky to roll would a +25 make any diffrence to allow clearance without fender work?

its minimal. from +22 to a +25, we're talking like... 0.1 of an inch but its definitely workable without rolling that rear. May even want to consider doing smaller tire for more stretch then.
