Thanks guys.

$280 bucks isn't too bad. I am not going to get the rest of the kit. I realy don't care about the looks in the trunk. I am going to buy a grey fabric tire cover/carrier from my local auto parts store for about $20.

Now I hope I can find that spare tire part number here at a Lexus dealership in Canada. From what I know I can't import rubber from the U.S. Otherwise I would just order it from where the rest of you guys did.

Thanks,
Mario

actually, i think in order to fit that spare tire, you will have to take off part of the cargo mat? so you will need to somehow cover that too?

Yes,

The cargo mat can just slide back 5 or 6 inches. If it bothers me I can cut it and have the cut edge stitched

I would get this

1 51900-91705 Carrier Assy, Spare Wheel $6.34
1 51913-24020 Plate, spare wheel mounting $15.15
1 51938-24010 Bracket,spare wheel carrier mounting $28.18
4 90105-06158 Bolt .38 ea

and a supra tire for $100

if you dont buy the mounting hardware the tire is gonna flop around

Yes Tony your right. I am just so focused on the wheel right now. I will get those bolts and brackets too. As far as the Supra TT spare is concerned. I can't find a used one in Toronto and from what I know I can't import rubber from the U.S.

I wonder if at a Toyota dealer the Supra TT spare would be cheaper than the SC spare from Lexus?

I know I'm digging up a very old thread, but I just purchased a 2005 SC 430 and I am thinking about getting the spare. Where can I go to purchase these parts (location or website)? Obviously don't want to go to my Lexus dealer (was just quoted $831 plus $237 for installation).

You won't find a new OEM SC430 spare kit for less....if you buy one, put it in yourself and don't pay the dealer! Also, there's usually a TT Supra spare for sale every week or so.... here's one in the wheel classifieds from yesterday:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=380227

If you search past threads you'll find members with TT Supra, G35/350Z and other type spares that are in the trunk without the fancy Lexus-badged carpet cover, but this way you save a ton of dough... good luck.

I bought an RX8 spare tire kit and it worked out perfect! Have about $200 in it and it was all new stuff. Here is a link to my write-up!

well let me tell you after driving a lotus elise for 2 years i dont worry about having the spare tire kit.... get a can of slime tire sealant and hope you dont get a huge blow out.

fix a flat is the preferred spare tire of lotus factory! lol but seriously that is what you get for flat repair!

Smile Supra compact spare fits tight!

The Supra compact spare fits very tight in my car, I don't need the bracket. Would be nice to have a tire cover, but a naked and clean spare doesn't look bad at all. Besides, who but me looks in my trunk anyway.

Also, I bought the spare tire mat board from Carson Toyota for something around $75. maybe less and I kept the original mat board for the next owner of my Roadster. Only slight disappointment was the spare tire mat board does not have the Lexus logo. (Maybe someone will want to drive around with out the spare and enjoy the larger mat board with the logo)
