Default Is that true different model years of SC430 have different backseats legroom?

I'm in the market for a SC430. When I was at the dealership today I was told that later year SC430s have increasing legroom in the back seat. Is that true? If so, by how much? Was that significant?

I have an 06 and it can't be much less. I think whoever told you that is not correct.

Sounds like what the guy at my local Toyota place said when they put in 7 qts of oil : "Yeah, they made some of the oil pans larger on these cars and we put a little extra cause these older cars use/leak oil." 06 sc430 .. ie wasn't man enough to admit he made a mistake. I went back one more time (they gave me a free oil change and rotation) and they didnt tighten the oil plug... just can't find good help nowadays.

It does sound like the guy at the Lexus dealership didn't know what he was talking about. Not surprising at all though; I spoke to a few guys/gals at the dealership and they admitted they knew nothing about these SCs and their model years. They started working at the dealerships after SC was discontinued.

How could it be? They are same platform. The only way you can increase the back seat leg room by moving the front seat forward...lol....

Can they create legroom by putting in thinner seats, front row and back row? Like the airlines do?

My SC430 is a 2007 model and it has no legroom. I repeat, NO LEGROOM. The back seat is just sexy storage for groceries and other stuf. Luckily I didn't buy it to cart around family and friends.

Even if the later model did have more room in the back ( we all know they don't , but for kicks and giggles) you would need more than a few inches . With the seat set comfortably for me I couldn't fit my hand between the back of the seat and the back seat. The person in the front has to be as scrunched up as much as the person in the back for them to sit there. Like was said before on here the backseat works if you have no legs.

I'm asian and only 5'6''. I can afford move the front seat forward to create the legroom for the back seat passengers.
I did have a back seat passenger once, she's 5'1". The legroom probably is OK for her but the straight, ninety degree back rest is the killer. Poor lady, she had to endure the 45 minute ride.

I'm 5'10" and I have fit a total of 4 people (mix of petite and large over the years; triage'd of course to have the smallest behind the driver) in my car for short duration trips. While driving it was uncomfortable, and I had the steering wheel basically at my chest level. Not how I'd like to spend more than an hour, but with the top down the increased head room makes it feel less constrictive. But I do not believe there is any difference in rear capacity between the years

I think they meant certain years have no leg room and some years have less than none.

IIRC, there is a difference in how far the seats lean back between the older and newer models but not the space between the front and rear.

+1 The rear seat is an excellent luggage storage area. We bought three Columbian leather duffle bags and store them vertically in the back seat while touring. We cinch them down with the seat belts!
