Seat Cooling
Anybody ever added seat cooling to their sc430? Are there vendors who do this sort of thing?

I've thought about it. Our other car has seat cooling with a separate condenser/pump etc system to the main AC. VERY nice. Even a couple of minutes blast on max, then wind it down to minimum... bliss on the botty!
To retrofit to an SC430 however... tricky. Of course the seats would need to be perforated and a piping distribution system put into each, so a complete disassembly needed. Technically much easier just to pull the ambient air from the cabin through the seat. This would still be a major improvement over nothing! Assuming it's a warm/hot day the ambient air will be being cooled by the main AC anyway. Scrap/junk yard scavenging luxury cars being broken for their system would be the most cost effective strategy I suppose. Be good to hear other peoples thoughts but I'd be surprised if anyone has actually done it to their SC430. I hope to be surprised! |
I'm not aware of anyone mentioning that they've added seat cooling to their SC430. The quickest way would be to get some seats out of another car (LS430?) and find a way to hook up some air to it. Like Scarletti mentioned, junk yards will be your wallet's friend here. The tricky part will be finding seats that are the right fit for the SC430 though. (Maybe the Infinity SC430 knock off cars?)

I think the airbag would be a huge issue.
