First upgrade on my 2003 SC430 was the replacement of struts. Purchased from liftsupportdepot. 20 minute task. Next weekend will replace the air intake with a Weapon R. Can't wait.

Strongarm 6423 versus PM1010
Both the above sold by liftsupportdepot.
Which one works better? I bought the PM1010 just because I did not know it was (Amazon, reviews are great). I thought it was 6423.
Strongarm 6423 is what you can buy from the auto stores around here but are $35 each and are out of stock.

Great I feel better now.

I might be wrong but I seem to think that the trunk does not pop up better using the new struts versus the old ones.
There’s only 1 way to find out, install the old and measure the gap upon popping and compare it to PM1010.

I know for a fact that I can lift the trunk to a certain height and it will pick it up and bring it to the full up position and it stays up versus the original OEM, got hit in the head at least half a dozen times. I also see a difference in summer and winter performance, summer is peak.

Wow, I'll bet this thread sure is full of kind folks who have received a few lumps to the noggin' LOL!
I could care less about "gap poppage"... just mostly about not getting knocked in the dome piece while unloading my damn groceries! My 2007 shocks get weak under 50 degrees here in New England. Summertime, they're fine. That's how gas shocks fail, at different temperature ranges. I'll bet warmer-weather car owners aren't experiencing this issue as much.
Thanks for all the advice in this thread guys, much appreciated.

Here in south Texas and I'm on my 3rd set. Two Oem, includes the originals. I hope these strong arms last longer. Even if not they are half the cost. They have been on a year still going strong.

SC430 Trunk Struts
I purchased a pair from Sundeley on ebay, had them installed, and they do NOT assist in opening the trunk lid at all (it's HEAVY) . . . then it wants to fall down. Through Club Lexus I found www.myLparts.com and--with the CL5 Club Lexus promo code--just ordered them for $115 each (less than my dealer's price).
Read other posts that non-OEM struts don't assist the lift, either.

As I updated the other thread, thought I should do this one too.
"So just thought I should make a quick post. I noticed that after about 10 years, my trunk lifters need replacement again. I looked at the current ones to see what company I had chosen for the first replacement pair, and found that they are from LiftSupportDepot.com. Decided to give them a call and turns out they have a lifetime warranty, that they stood behind. Got a new set coming for only the price of shipping, $9.80! Can't beat that!"
