Default How often do you use the top ?

Curious as to the frequency of people putting the top up and down per week. Just trying to get a feel of the longevity / reliability of the mechanical components as whether or not I should stop putting it up and down so frequently.

I probably take it up/down at least once every single time I drive.

I figured since I have a car under first the CPO and now the Lexus Extended Warranty I would use it as often as possible. I don't leave the top down when I go in a store, so up it goes and then down when I come out. I use it when the temp is > 60 and under 90 and its not raining.

I've had my 2007 since 2010 and never had an issue. I also have a Luxlink installed.

During the spring/summer/fall it's anytime it's not raining. I raise it when I park it so it'll go up & down several times a day. During the hump seasons I'll do the same anytime it's over 50 & sunny :-)

I have never had a problem. I have owned my 2002 for about 3 years... It goes up and down as much as possible. I have never even thought about the mechanics...

thats good to hear, im just making myself a bit paranoid by digging through the forums and reading about "potential" top issues that might occur.

More times than I can count, never a problem. Have a gut feeling that if it ever refuses, it will be raining w/top down!!!

As a rough estimate, I would say I cycle the top (up or down) 500 times per year. Even a three block ride is not to short to have the top down. Plus, with the LuxLink, I can have the top down before I get in and walk away while it is going back up.

I'm that douchebag driving around in New England on 45-50 degree days with my heated seats, jacket, and heat on level 3, 85 degrees LOL !!! I didn't buy a droptop to drive around with the top on all the time. Honestly - whenever I see convertibles driving around top up on a nice day, I think, "What a waste!" Might as well buy a Ferrari just to go grocery shopping, or a Hummer so you can get good fuel economy.

This winter has been wayyyy too long. Summer needs to get here already.

For about 2-3 months in the Spring and again in the Fall, I pop the top almost every time I take it out-about twice a week or so. I'm in AZ and the weather then is jus perfect.

I try to drop it whenever it is not raining and between 55°F and 90°F. If it is a bit chilly, then run the heat and wear a coat. If a tad hot, run the a/c. (I've owned my '02 since 2006.)
