Default New owner question

Just picked my 02 SC430. 50k miles in Twilight Amethyst. It looks new.
It came with a new set of the Bridgestone DriveGuard tires.

I have had other cars with runflats that had a really rough ride.
From what I can tell so far these ride great.

My question is - Did the 02's come with the spare tire kit. Mine has the jack, tool kit, and the well that the spare goes in. It did not have a spare. The cover does not have a tire cutout.
Just wondering if the previous owner added these or they came as standard equipment with only the tire needed to complete.

The spare tire is an option. If the original owner didn't order the spare tire, the Mat luggage compartment floor cover came as a complete cover. Refer to item 64711 on the pic below.

Did they come with the spare tire kit of jack, tools, etc.?
Mine has the solid mat but underneath is a tray holding the jack, lugwrench, and tool kit.
There is also a wheel well under the cover that a spare would fit into.

WOW! Nice looking ride! By the way, you can pick up a spare for the vehicle if you ever get rid of the run flats. Mine were like Fred Flintstone tires, so I got rid of them. I picked up the Mazda version of the spare on Ebay or what others call Fleabag... :-) Enjoy the ride. I have had mine now about 2 years....best car I have ever owned, and I love to trade cars.

Thanks, I think I am going to really enjoy this ride.
I also trade fairly often but this might just be the exception.

As I said, these run flats seem to ride very smooth. Supposed to last longer also.
If I do decide to replace with regular tires I would definitely go with one of the spares, Looks like they do not take up too much trunk space.

Forgot to mention we also have a RX400h. Wifeys car. She loves it.

We must be on the same wave... We have an 06 400h. But that is actually my every day car and my wife drives a Fiat 500. The SC is our fun weekend car, or car to drive to work in the morning when it is nice and I can put the top down.

Our RX is an 06 also.

The SC will be a weekend driver with some occasional weekday use.

Sold one of my Harleys and this is a replacement. I know it will see much more use than the bike.

Seems like every time I took it out I ended up dodging someone texting or talking. Very dangerous times to be riding these days.

Beautiful car!

I bought the Spare Tire Kit from Sewell shortly after purchase. I was lucky to get it or $750 on sale. The kit comes with new mount hardware, back wall trim, floor tool cover and the tire cover.

It looks much more elegant then other options. However, a lot of trunk space is sacrificed.

Enjoy that wonderful ride!

Regards, Dan
