Question Power seat controls - memory module

On my wife's sweet, low miles 2002 SC 430 the passenger seat controls for the forward, back and tilt stopped working. The lumbar support still working fine, separate control switch. I unbolted the seat to get access, and no power to the plugs to the main seat switch or to the memory module. Of course the fuse is good since the lumbar motor works, and yes good 12V to the plug. I did check the fuse just to feel better.
Gave in, took it to dealer, explained in detail the issues. A day later the diagnoses was a bad memory module and after some haggling a quote of $800 +. Would take a day or two to get the new module.
Bit the bullet, gave the OK and another day later the news was Lexus no longer makes a memory module for the 2002 and none were in stock anyplace. They said they found a used one (I checked and found them on ebay for $125 ish) and said they would warranty it for one year.... for $600+ installed.
My questions are would Lexus really no longer make a component like a memory module for the SC 430? Years 2001 - 2004 I believe is the same unit.
Is the dealer just not looking hard enough for a new one and could the power controls problem be caused some other way?
Thanks!

Get the part number and verify which company makes the part. Quite a few electronics parts for Toyota and Lexus vehicles are made by Denso. Cross reference this part with Toyota vs. Lexus. Good luck.

...since you've found them on ebay, you might look into installing it yourself, sounds like it could save you some money
