SC430 is awesome

Well today I had two experiences with the SC430, was at Lexus, asked the dealer to demo the top ... just to show my friend who has a 328ic... nice :) I have seen it before it is awesome... but later that night I was out at the casino and my friend calls me, we all met for coffee, and then guess what he had... Silver SC430... dam what a car, you guys are so lucky to have it. I see in the future my addition to my garage will be a SC430, maybe not for a while though, since I am young and not as established as many of you here.

Two small things I wish Lexus did, make the back seats atleast decent usable... but I guess it fits the design perfectly, and 2 get better wheels, which I think they will do in later models.

Congrats to anyone here that owns a SC430. Hope you guys are all loving it. I would say Lexus has done a perfect job with this car.

Also when you are driving around, do you have people yelling... nice car, nice lexus, etc. I noticed that with a few people tonight.

Phoenix ...

Yup ... I've had people pass me yelling "NICE CAR!" several times. One time is memorable. I was stopped at a light when I heard a booming voice from above say, "Nice ride". I thought it was you-know-who on a not-too-busy day, but it turned out to be an electric company driver sitting high in a repair rig in the next lane. :p

Lucky? "Luck is when preparation meets opportunity". So prepare.

Yeah, I have people huddling around my car in more than a few occasions in parking lots when I came out from restaurants or shops to pick it up. A couple of times, I just kept a distance and try to hear what they have to say. I've heard nothing but compliments so far, never the sometimes negative comments on the exterior styling I've read on the internet or magazines. I guess this car just looks so much more impressive in person and up close. People seem particularly impressed with the interior.

It still makes me nervous with people gawking at my car up close though. I've read about a lady with her brand new G35 coupe keyed when she returned from shopping, apparently by some ignorant and jealous jerk. I still regularly check the car for scratches after I have driven it and parked it unattended.

I am also amazed at all of attention the car brings. Of course, I enjoy it as well. I have a black/black with the TRD wheels. Recently my wife and I took a weekend out to SF and stayed at the Villa Florence. When we left I was there when the valet brought the car up. I did not identify myself right away and got a kick out of the small crowd that gathered round while the valet waited for the "owner" to show up. When I did come forward the valet remarked that this was the best car he had ever driven and used the word "sweet" several times. Normally I would have thought he was going for a bigger tip but he forget to hang around long enough to get one. When my wife came out, I went and found him and took care of that. Upon my return, I of course, dropped the top while the small crowd watched. Yeah, that was a great weekend.
