I hooked up the obd-11 with the dashboard open/close switch red light on all the time (fault), and a couple codes flashed (maybe the ones i needed to troubleshootr the switches) but in the main menu of the scanner no dtc codes were listed. so i elected to clear the memory since i had experience with this fixing an engine light on my avalon (faulty catalytic converter sensor). bam, i havent had any probs since. the problem started driving and stopping the car in traffic while in the middle of open/closing the roof foolishly.
Well, I finally broke down and took it to the local Lexus Dealership here in Columbus. 1100 buuuucks later the top works like a charm. The problem was the motor for the plastic package tray that flips up to allow the top to enter the trunk (and then flips back down) for the deck lid to partially rest on. Been driving the car more but have to say it feels a little lumbering. My expectations may have been too high for this car, but it feels heavy in the front end and you have to really apply pressure to pick up a lower gear. Is there any adjustment possible with the ETC?

MedSC, congrats on the fix. The top is truly the most alluring aspect to the SC. Without it, it's just not the same. Too bad it was a pocket breaker, though. In regards to the acceleration, check this out... https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...0-a-650-e.html. There's also the SprintBooster ETC, as I stated in my post. Both have info on this thread. Just use the search at top. Good luck.

Thanks, it is nice to pop the top at will. The shift adjustment holds some appeal and I may well try it at fluid change time. Appreciate the link suggestion but am surprised that that simple mod hasn't been utilized by more. While I generally enjoy the smoothness of the SC, the shift mod may be just the tweak to give it a little more ---personality.
