Smile Changing Rear Brake Lamp

Just a tip, it is very easy to do: Remove a screw that is hidden behind a square pop off cover and using a screw driver with the tip covered with tape, pry up on the edge of the entire plastic tail light assembly which is held in by two plungers. (pins with rings that pop out of sockets), twist the lamp socket out of the plastic light assembly, pull out the lamp and replace.

By the way, if you have the complete service manual, you might make the mistake I did when reading it. It starts out telling you how to remove all the trunk trim before it gets to the part about the lamp. So, I added a heading to that paragraph for future reference. You don't need to remove anything other than the plastic tail light assembly and that is only pulled out enough to get to the lamp socket. The owners manual gives you the lamp number to buy and it is available at most auto parts stores. Mine came two lamps on a card.

wow!!! holy crap...I was going to change my rear tails to the LED's and started messing around back there and started undoing all the trunk trim too!!!

So you mean to tell me all you need to do is pry open carefully that black trim on the outer part of the tails and go?

Wow! What a great tip! I was sitting there unpopping all those damn clips on the rear trim and what a mess and scary thing that was. Whew!

Now...do you have the secret recipe for the fog light conversion to HID WITHOUT removing the bumper? nice job thanks for passing on
