The strut bar looks good with the engine covers on.

I paid $200USD, $130 for the bar and $70 for shipping. Mathieu shipped out May 11 and I received it May 13. That's 3 days. I didn't mind paying since anything shipped to Hawaii is expensive outside of standard sizes.

My SC don't shimmie as much now that it is installed. Well worth the $200 new.

Great! That's what I paid for as well. It took a week for Cusco to deliver to them and then he ships them and I get it within 3 days. Awesome. Nice packaging and all.

What I really have to do is change my air box for my Injen intake. As one of the members said, I have destroyed the clean look of my engine bay with the improvised air box.

I may just need to fabricate an aluminum plate with insulation for the make over. I will. Just in time for my Cusco bar...

Update on my airbox for the Injen intake. I have always believed that an airbox (short of sending the intake to the wheel well) helps with getting the intake air temperature as close to ambient temps.

I have purchased a Scangage a while back to debug my thermostat issue on the Miata. Now I installed my Scangage on the SC to study if an airbox (within the engine bay) helps with the temperature of the intake air of which the goal is to get the air on ambient temperature.

The intake air goes up when the car is still (like on a stop) and without the air box, the minute you stop, it starts climbing rapidly. Makes sense since the heat on the engine bay makes its way to the intake.

On the scangage you have 2 parameters that you can view at any given time. I selected water temperature and Intake air temperature.

A few days ago, I went for a ride, 80 F ambient air and I saw my intake temperature go up to 165F on a traffic stop and the temp went up fast, like 4 to 5 degrees per second. Water temperature at 200F. Once you start up running, the intake air settles to about 3 to 4 degrees higher than ambient, in this case it was running 84F. I monitored this condition a couple of times.

Today, I re-installed my airbox and went for a spin. Outside air was 70F. While cruising it gives me 70F intake air temp. This pretty much stayed the same the whole ride. Getting back home, I let it stand still on the driveway and watched how the temps went. It gradually went up, but slowly, like 3-4 degrees every 10 seconds. The highest it went was 94F when I finally shut it down.

I will take more study runs today, however based on the initial study, the air box works. it helps pull ambient air to the intake. My airbox is almost flush with the hood liner, not allowing the hot air on the engine bay to get into the partition. I also opened up and created a diverted on the grill to push air into the box while in motion.

Now if I can just fabricate a better looking air box, then the bay would not look like ghetto, LOL.

Got mine a few days ago. Took it apart and am in the process of coating the mounts with Flexidip and then anodized red rather than the anodized blue. Hopefully, it will turn out well and still be removable in the future for anyone who wants the original finish. More pics to come soon.
