Good afternoon. I have a 2005 SC430 and I'm considering having a Vais SL3sat Interface + Tuner Kit installed to access satellite radio. Does the Sirius display appear on the existing radio or does it use the navigation screen?

I know that this is a year old question, but I have decided to purchase the same VAIS system in lieu of either spending big bucks to replace my OEM head unit, or just repair my "non loading" CD player. Can someone who knows the answer to the OP's question please chime in? Thanks

 

It appears on the lcd display[ not the nav screen ] you will get the channel its on and the name of the channel. I have had it on my sc for 7 years

 

thanks for the info Mrblaster. I kind of figured that it did not tie into the Nav Screen, but in doing more research it seems like most, if not all the backup camera's will tie into and appear on the Nav screen. Can I assume that yours does?

Not the issue seems to be whether or not the VAIS system will work on my 2004 SC. I've seen some info on various sites that say it will, some say that it won't, so I plan on calling the company in CO tomorrow to find out for sure.

May I ask you where you decided to locate your antenna for the VAIS? How is the reception, and if you could would you move it to someplace else? Thanks so much.

 

I have my antenna located above the passenger side on the front part of the roof that does not move I hid the wire inside the rubber molding and ran it down the front a piller the antenna base is magnetic and over all the reception is good I do occasional loose signal under neath trees
