No offense but that does not look good. I would try modding an OEM antenna to fit. For the 2nd gen, I would look into a IS C antenna.

Thanks for your opinion. I checked out lots of options but none of those billet or stub type antennas are actually functional. They only have the screw type connection for mounting, which doesn't fit into our SC antennae hole without removing the whole motor and finding a structural mounting solution, also. So it's the same situation as with this antennae, except there's no way to connect the antenna wire to the type to which you're referring. This one has the option for the connection for those that want reception.

I had to switch out my base unit from the stock retracting antenna to a fixed unit from a 2002 celica. I don't think the fitment will be right on a SC430 tho. I would look into switching out base with a unit from a IS c or some other car.

Shawnok - yes all cleared up. Looks great. I don't think I would use 800 MHz though - I would still want an FM antenna.

So here's a small update. Now I live in the Chicagoland area and there are many more radio stations here than my small town in Oklahoma and my antenna was creating some static with distant stations. So I went to local audio shop and picked up an antenna adapter that allowed me to switch the antenna inputs on the back of the radio head unit. Now I pick up the stations using only the front windshield antenna as my primary antenna and still am able to use my iSimple hard wired FM modulator/interruptor (IS77) which acts on the disconnected/replaced mast antenna. I get full sound and no static at all. Perfect fix that also gives me Aux Input by tuning to FM 88.9. My stub antenna is only for looks plus no body work or cutting tubes or even opening up the trunk panels! I can't be happier.

UPDATE: I am still able to get the <TRAF> function, RDS stations, and MSG's on the head unit's display.
