Default Lexus Logo Puddle Lights & Door Speaker DIY

My right side door speaker was starting to go south so I knew I had to replace it. I still had 1 set since I replaced the DR side months ago. So since I was tearing down the Panel, might as well do the Puddle Light DIY as well.

Here are some teaser pics. I took my time, am happy with the results. For little money and a ton of hard work, results are so gratifying at least for me.

Default Puddle Projectors

Mandyfig
Very Nice write up

I drilled my door panels at the bottom enclosed some pics.. I installed a male female connector wired to the courtesy light wires so if you have to remove panel in the future you can unplug the projector.
The finished projector in the panel is flush to the bottom and when door is closed lens is protected from water and dirt.

Nice mrblister. I wanted to be near the courtesy light.

Please take a picture of your light in action.
I will take a picture and post. They really show up well at night not so much in daylight. I also bought the blue versions but It was not as bright as the white so I installed the white ones.

Mandyfig

How did you wire your projector to the courtesy lights. Did you use a removable connector ? Sorry you uploaded before I saw it

Going to the rear puddle light:

Tip

You will need to bore holes on the plastic tray and the PANEL. Bon just bore the hole through and he hit the tray and the panel. In fact he did not even disassemble the panels. Hence he had some time to snake the wiring. taking out the panels wan not hard and it took 5 minutes.

The rear is straightforward. Just take time and always make sure your connections are good and secure. The pitfall here is the wires used are so flimsy. Other that that the happiness factor is high. It shuts off after a few minutes which is good.

Here are the pics:

This is a set of the Puddle light with the plain Lexus Logo. The hole saw is perfect in size.
