I would like to extend a special Thanks to FlopTop04. I bought a LuxLink about a year ago. When I final got some free time to install the LuxLink. I open the box and started going through the box and instruction. I found out that in order for the LuxLink to work one would need to leave a Key in the Vehicle. This to me was not an option. I posted a Thread and got a few response one of which was from a FlopTop04. He suggested to use the IdataLink ADS-TB. With the ADS-TB you no longer have to leave a key. He also PMed me his number & email and a link of his Viper Installation. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...59&PN=1#_index. I bought the IdataLink ADS-TB and with the help of FlopTop04 via Pm's and phone calls was able to install the LuxLink with the idataLink. During the process of installing the LuxLink. I found an aftermarket Alarm and a Black Box with a Key inside. How ironic is that??? The LuxLink functioned 100% as described by Luxlink. But in talking with FlopTop04 and him telling me about the add feature that could be had with the Viper 5407 (2 Way Confirmation LCD Display, 1 mile remote range, Comfort Closure, Roof Open/Close, Window Open/Close & Others). For me the 1 mile range was the selling point because I was unable to remote start my vehicle at my job due to distance with the LuxLink. I bought the Viper and removed the LuxLink with less than a week of LuxLink installation. With the help of FlopTop04's Viper Alarm Installation Link and numerous Phone. He would take to time to explain and make sure I was doing the install the right way. After the installation he suggest and offered to met me and Program the Viper 5704. He drove able 45 minutes to met me half way and then spent 2 to 3 hours to program the Alarm, Windows, Roof. After all was said and done he then refused any and all compensation I offered him. He just kept saying that it was all in Community Forum Spirit.I hope to one day pass on the Community Forum Forum Community Spirit. A Very Special Thanks Again goes out to FlopTop 04(Kreg)

Looking good, Kenny! Great video. Love those wheels! Thanks for the kind words. It is always a pleasure to help and assist when possible. This forum has definitely helped me with several problems that came with my wife's SC430.

Looks like your "Open" goes faster than mine and we need to meet ( this time for lunch ) and make that minor timing change with the BitWriter. I might be bringing the wife's SC back this weekend for the summer if the weather looks good and you can me give some tips on the paint and leather.

Educate me. I have a Luxlink in my cabinet ready to be installed. Educate me. Where do I have to leave an extra key to make it work?

Now is the time for me to change. What is the benefit/cost analysis here?

Here is an excerpt from the LuxLink install guide ( found on Page 7 of 7 of the LuxLink install guide ).
NOTE:
Before trying to remotely start vehicle the by pass transponder kit needs to be installed in vehicle.
The black key sense wire on bypass kit gets connected to J1.8 Blue with white wire from LuxLink.
See installation instructions in TBK111 By pass kit. (Yellow wire is not used)

The TBK111 bypass kit is a standard "key in the box" bypass module. It is triggered by the LuxLink's J1.8 Blue wire and then reads the transponder chip secured inside the TBK111 box and sends this data to it's antenna that is mounted to the SC430 ignition switch. This is a very easy method to fool the car into thinking that an ignition key ( transponder chip ) is in the ignition cylinder.

There are a few possible draw backs from this setup, aside from the obvious security issue if a full working key is left in the car.

One is a programmed transponder chip must be placed inside the TBK111 module, which is left in the vehicle. Typically this is an actual cut, working key, like the valet key. It could be just the transponder chip ( from the "flat key" ). It could also be an uncut but programmed transponder key or a working key with the blade cut / removed for security reasons.

While not always an issue, there have been instances of failure to remote start due to very cold temperatures and poorly positioned antenna or antenna slippage and movement. However, SC430's seem to be popular in warm climates and proper installation / securing techniques will mitigate remote start problems.

Considering the cost of the TBK111 and a transponder chip / key, the newer Data style bypass modules seem to be a nice alternative. These Data style bypass modules are programmed with a working transponder key during installation ( but the key is not left in the module ), use the same LuxLink J1.8 wire during remote start to fool the car into believing a working transponder ignition key is in the ignition switch, are not bothered by cold weather or antenna placement and do not contain a transponder chip or key within. The typical cost is about $40 and the only downside is the more involved vehicle wiring during installation. However, as verified by TURBO819, they can be used with the LuxLink system. Here is a link to the ADS TBSL TI install guide used in that install : http://cdncontent2.idatalink.com/cor...N_20130301.pdf See page 19 for SC430 wire colors & pin locations, page 20 for connector type and 21 of 27 for the actual bypass module to vehicle wiring. The 12Volt pictorial includes actual SC430 transponder, keysense and ignition connectors / wires as an additional reference ( http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...ID~131859~PN~1 ).

These bypass modules are very popular with professional installers due to their reliability and customers not wanting to give up an expensive key. They do require skilled soldering during installation, just like the other LuxLink wire connections to the vehicle and a programming procedure that is outlined in the guide.

Default Synchronized Viper 4704V & Viper 5407V

I met up with FlopTop04 to adjust the window timing. He brought out his Beautiful Indigo Ink Pearl With Ecru Interior.
