Default Looking for a backup camera system

I am looking for an aftermarket backup camera system not for my SC430 but for another car. The backup system I put in my SC430 a few years ago is excellent and displays through the navigation screen.

What I want for my other car is a system whose back-of-the-car camera displays either on the upper interior mirror or on a separate dash mounted monitor.

There are many such systems listed on the internet. However, my technical knowledge is too limited to determine the best one. Thus, I ask for recommendations from a member of this forum who has actually have had this type of system installed in his/her car.

Have you been spoiled by the size of the SC430 screen? When I still owned it, my Tacoma had a back-up display in the rear view mirror. Small by comparison, but still functional. Not knowing what vehicle you intend use it in it's hard to say. But a solutiion may be the mirror, camera and another NAVtool.

Thank you WTiBob for yor suggestion.

I had previously checked with NavTv. They do not have a product that can mate with my 2012 Audi's MMI Nav display nor do have stand alone products such as a mirror or dash monitor display.

The price range on the internet for a simple camera and display unit is from a few dollars (this could not have much quality) to hundreds of dollars for a system that might or might not be a quality system. This is why I am searching for input from a member who has actual good experience with a specific brand and model system.

What after market backup system did you purchase for your SC430? I am searching for one now with no real success. Thanks.

I purchased a NAV-TV System consisting of:

RGBLEX Video Interface
Rostra Video Backup Camera

It worked really well and provided a wide, clear and full color picture when I backed up.

I also purchased a similar NAV-TV system for my 2012 Audi.

NAV-TV makes super electronic products.

This is the website for the product: http://navtv.com/product/21/rgblex-.html

I suggest that after you look at the website, you phone them to get all of the facts you require. They are quite helpful and courteous.

I highly recommend them.

Thanks. I just checked them out! Can't find the camera you spoke of but they seem to have pretty good options. Looks like I can connect to my nav system.
