Default SC430 High Mount Brake Light Assembly

Lexus has diagnosed a ground fault with an intermittent connection.... I am not sure how to proceed ...
Could it be a light bulb connection... or does it even have these?
Can the part be serviced in place... or must I replace the whole assembly?
Can I buy a generic part that will fit....or must I buy a $265 Lexus replacement part?
I have searched for a relevant thread, without success, so can anyone give me advice or guidance?
Thank you.

What was the dealer method to repair and what was the cost. quoted by them installed. A ground fault intermittent connection is just a loose wire. It would seem that this wire should be able to be replaced . I am also not sure how the brake light assemble is removed I would ask the dealer these questions unless the forum members have a better remedy

Good luck.

It could be as simple as bad solder on your light bulb. Or it could be a dirty terminal in the socket, or it could be a bad wire. Check the bulb and clean the terminals with alcohol swap or electrical cleaner. I apologize for not being familiar with the parts and socket so I can't tell you if a generic will fit.

Thank you...but I do not know whether there is a bulb and terminal to service as I cannot see whether it is a servicable assembly....could I test the assembly while on the car?

Thank you....Dealer quotes $265 replacement part and 1 hour labor, but I question the labor because the assembly is held in place with adhesive and 2 screws. I have removed the latter but the former requires heating the assembly to 100+F to break the adhesive-hold on the trunk.
