Default Battery drainage cutoff

I have trouble with people leaving the passenger door open when they get out and running my battery down. I understand that on the newer SC430 there is a cutoff to prevent this. Mine is an 02. Is it something that I can put on my car?

best way is make sure the door is close when you leave the car.

If any door/trunk is not fully closed, you will see the red door ajar light on dash. I often see that light because my daughter cannot shut the trunk close.

What I did was planning to put my umbrella in the trunk and opened it. Then decided to let the umbrella dry off and forgot to close the trunk back. Didn't even get back into the car to see the door light. I won't do it again.

I'm sure there is a sensor in the door, feel around the door latch, and there is a little "buttin" you could always take the panel off and disconnect that wire, but it's a bit extreme.
