Re: Low Voltage Disconnect device

Well, that's what I thought. I've had a battery go low before, fortunately not so bad that it wrecked the battery. But clearly it went past where any sensible designer would have set the threshold of a LVD (12.10 for example).

...and yet last weekend I had a flat battery (not enough juice to even unlock) so I measured the battery (on load) and measured a few hundred millivolts. It did recover once I disconnected etc. Made me wonder if we did actually have a LVD after all!

Ho hum... might look at creating/fitting an LVD myself then.

I've never had my SC430 battery drain down to nothing but have on other cars. However, I'd be real surprised if the SC430 had a low voltage shut off device in the system.

I regularly have to buy a new battery for my car. Extended parking on holidays weakens it terribly.
If I'm lucky I get a year out of each one, be they premium or homebrand....
SC430's are hard on batteries. My Aristo TT was a lot better. One new battery in 5 years.

I trickle charge the SC battery almost once a week.
