Default Puddle light install

Could use some help. Was Installing new projector puddle lights this weekend. I cut the wire connector plug on one door, spliced the two wires, but does not work. I know the lights fine, because I jammed the two wires up into the plug on other door without cutting it off and it works fine. I checked the fuse its ok also. Its a simple two wire connection, what the hell else could it be.

Polarity. Switch wires and you should make it work. LED right?

Double check your connection of the two wires you spliced back together. If that looks and continuity is good then run a long hot wire to your battery just to check the leds. You can ground the other wire at the door. If that works....triple check your connection. I don't recollect a fuse just for that door.
?????

good luck!

Your LED might be bad. It happens all the time. I bought an LED for my fogs and it was kaput. Silly me I did not check it after receipt. Months later when I decided to install it, it was dead. Trying to get some resolution on a DOA LED is hard to do...

Did you do a battery check as specified above? I have a handy battery tap just for this purpose.

If you cut the door light wiring you may have blown the fuse when your cutter may have shorted across both wires. You say you checked the fuse but I wonder if you checked the right fuse? Also, did you cut off the wire of the projector puddle light? The "lump" in the wire contains a voltage regulator that protects the led from being over driven by the car's 12 volt system so it can't be removed. Don't know, just askin'.

Thanks everyone for all the feedback, been trying to look into this, actually more like trying to get other people to help me look into this. Frankly little out of my league with some of this stuff. As far as the fuse, its fine, and yes there is a fuse under the hood strictly for each door. I got a buddy of mine who has a tester, we didn't seem to be grounded, he suspects I pulled something loose, didn't think so, but perhaps I did. Looks like I'll have to get behind the door frame now to try to see if I can get the problem fixed. Hopefully I'll just need to ground the other end of the wire and I'll be good to go. The projection light on the drivers door looks good at least. LOL
