Default Child Car Seat in SC430 (Video)

I am wondering how reasonable is it to install a car seat for a child in the back on an SC430?

I ran across this video on YouTube of someone driving in a SC430 with a child in a car seat in the back, they look reasonably comfortable (I don't know these people)...

Has anyone tried a car seat in their SC430?

i like how mom has 6 inches of unused leg room. while junior can't even get all the way in his seat. it might not be such a bad fit with less douchey parents.

This I know quite a bit about!

I have a 3 year old son and a 10 year old daughter. I'm 6'2" and my wife is 5'7"!

My three year old sits in a booster just like what you see there in the video. I have to put a blanket over the back of the seat so his feet don't mar it up. My wife puts her seat far enough ahead so that he doesn't have to straddle the back seat, however my wife being as tall as she is does have to sit a bit catywampus in order for it to work. Now my daughter doesn't require a car seat, so she can sit in back of me with just enough room to put her feet in under my seat and sits fairly comfortable, however for me with my seat far enough ahead for her to fit and be being "very" tall...my head is just about 4” from touching the window header...LOL!

Does it work...SURE!

NOTE: Not made for long commutes...LOL!

I've had a SC since my son was born and had the rear facing and the front facing child seats in the back, now that he is over six we have just a bottom booster or we "risk" it even though he is 4" tall and over 50lbs and go with no seat most of the time.

He knows not to kick the hell out of the back of the seat and lets his legs dangle instead of pushing on the back. He sits on my wife's side (where she never rides anyway) and the seat is about half way back on memory and no problem at all!

I think some of the worst critics of the SC say that the backseat is "useless" is a little harsh. It is what YOU make it!

My dad has a A4 cabrio and the back seat is roomier, but certainly NOT comfy for four adults. Same thing with 911's, Sebrings, etc. The CLK/E class convertible is pretty roomy. Mustang is not...I've checked them all out and rode in most.

I have the Oobr seat in the back and my 5 year old fits fine. Passenger seat preset 1 is set for "seat forward, kid in back seat" and preset 2 is "far back as it goes without touch, no kid in seat". Makes for fast in and outs for the kid too.

Ditto here, except I have the kids trained that preset 2 means TWO people on the passenger's side (seat forward) and preset 1 means ONE person on passenger's side (seat far back).

An adult and a child is a bit of a pinch, but not bad. Two kids (mine are 14 and 8) is absolutely no problem at all, especially after all their friends say, "wow, cool car!"

What you see in the video is a booster seat. Especially with the SC rear seats so low, we still use one, albeit with the back removed.
