I've searched, but not sure if this is normal.

When I put the car in reverse the doors lock. When I put the car in park the doors don't unlock, but I've never noticed because when I grab my door handle it also unlocks my door...however when my +1 grabs her handle it doesn't unlock her door. Is that normal?

I'm assuming I can change the setting when the car is put in park to automatically unlock the doors???

OMG this annoys me so much!

The GS will unlock all doors when in park but mine only unlocks the driver side door.

I am sure that Vipniss will chime in on how he is annoyed of me talking about this!

My Lexus dealer set my Cbest settings to unlock both doors when I put the car in park for free while the car was in for service. You cannot change these settings yourself, you need to take it to the dealer.

CBEST settings or not, your passenger door should open when you pull the handle...door locked or not.

I checked ours on the way home.

My doors do NOT unlock when you put the car in "Park" but, if you pull either handle (verified), the doors will open.

^ My passenger doesnt even do that! I have to flip the unlock thing thats above the handle in order to get the door opened

I know we have all had individual experiences with these settings and what dealers will do for you and won't do for you for free, especially older cars, BUT my suggestion is to very kindly ask them to do this for you next time you bring it in for service.

I call it the piggyback warrantystack! LOL Bring in your laundry list and add a few more

This drove me nuts on my 02 when I bought it as well and LPS wasn't available but cbest was and the dealer hooked me up on a big warranty service I had.

+1, never had to unlock my doors unless someone wants to come inside the car. The door will unlock when I pull the handle. When it unlocks it doesn't feel electronically controlled. By pulling the handle it seems to manually "pop" the door unlock.

My driver's door works this way, but the passenger does not!!!! Have don this many times! Maybe it's an '02 thing, or maybe something is broken on my passenger door, but I wouldn't think so???

Nope, not an '02 thing. Mine is an '02 and the passenger door unlocks by pulling just the handle. That should be a mechanical action, not electrical or programmable. It sounds like there is something misaligned or broken in those that don't unlock with the handle.

I wonder if it's just a clip or something simple like that?

To anyone who has or will remove their door panel...would someone mind checking to see what clip or cable it is that allows the opening of the inside door handle to also unlock the door manually?

Anyone gotten anywhere with this? Is this in fact a mechanical issue, or is it a programmable/electronic issue?

My 02 sc430 will not unlock when I put it in park either (on the passenger side). Really wish it would..

I believe that is a C-Best setting from Lexus. Check with a service adviser from Lexus dealer. If it were, you do have to pay for the custom resetting. I had my DRL turned off and seat belt charms turned off as well.
