Question Daytime Running Lights

Anyone have any idea on how to kill the Daytime Running Lights? Is there a fuse or something you can pull or something? Any help would be appreciated because those lights are ugly and are killing me!!

Check FAQ C-Best settings and you will see that the dealer can easily turn them off for you.

Printed out the "c-Best" codes that appear on the link above and took my car to a good stereo shop.
They re set the codes for the lights (and a few other things). Now those annoying lights are OFF !!!

Thanks guys, but my dealer says they can't be shut off. That was their easy way to get rid of me. If I want them off I should be able to, correct?? I'll try my best.

Default well..

You can do what I did and showed up with the c-best printout in hand highlighting the option to turn of the daytime running lights.. they couldn't tell me then that it couldn't be done!

Mine are off!!

Dealers will tell that. It has to do with legal bull****.
Go to a reliable stereo shop with the code sheet.

Manhattan Lexus, where I live, refused to turn them off altho I had the C-Best printout for them (June 21, 2001 service bulletin), took the car to Ray Catena in Larchmont, where I'd bought it, they turned them off without quibbling. When I got the routine letter from manhattan asking if their service (15000 mile) had been OK I told them that was fine but they were out of line on the lights, have never had a reply of course, and they have lost a service customer. By the way current Toyotas have a switch that lets you choose whether or not you want the DRLs on, we Lexus owners are the poor relations i guess.
