Mid-range Speaker Repair DIY (thanks Zgone)
#61
I just did 5 of my speakers in my 2002 SC430.
1 x Subwoofer
2 x front door 6x9
2 x rear panel 4.5s
I used the simply speakers repair kit for 60 odd bucks or so. All I can say is, WOW. It's like a brand new car, I had no idea how bad my speakers had deteriorated. My rear panel 4.5s were completely broken away from the woofer, producing essentially zero sound, and my front 6x9s were not far behind.
If you are on the fence, unsure about your car audio, frustrated with not being able to turn up the music, then go ahead and do yourself a favor and do this. It completely changed my opinion on my cars' audio and I absolutely fell back in love with it. I used to only listen to talk radio, but now I turn up the JAMS.
Great work Simply Speakers!

Again, the only reason why I ended up replacing my oval fronts is that 1 speaker simply was dead. I had to bite the bullet and purchase the 6.5's. In retrospect, I should have just invested in 1) A set of ML OEM Oval Speakers or 2) A set of the DC Golds.
