Default Check Engine and VSC and VSC Light are on :((

Hi everyone, brand new Sc430 owner , 05 with 15,000 miles on the car.
Tonight on the way home the dreaded lights came on, is this from driving too slow for a extented period of time, from changing the tires or because no one is in the passenger seat.
I seem to see several reason for this in the forum, just not sure which one would of caused it.
Please advise how to resent these light economically and I will be forever in debt to the forum.
Thanks

Could be a number of things, but the gas cap is good starting point. Also, use the Search feature at the top of the page, this issues has been covered endlessly and there is a no cost solution, but you need to discover why it came on.

In fact the Gas Cap was not screwed on tight, so I'll see in the morning if this changes. Apparently it can be a bit before the system changes status, and turns the dash lights off?

PJ is right...if the lights don't go out, then stop by one of the autoparts stores, they can hook up a OBDII reader and pull the generic trouble codes from the DLC3 port that's under the dash by the trunk/gas release buttons. The port is capped and labeled OBDII.

Hi forum, well the warning lights didn't go out today after driving to and from work, about 5 miles each way. Could it take longer or do I need to go to the next option?

Read this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...scangauge.html but you really should stop by an autoparts store and see if they'll hook up a scanner to read error codes.

I'll see who has them here in Calgary Canada and get a reading if I can without buying the 200 buck code reader
Thanks

3 days after I purchased my 03 SC430, those lights came on and I took it to Auto Zone and they read the codes and printed them out for me for free. I came home, searched the CL Forum and found a vacuum hose that could be the problem. Sure enough, that very hose came off and that was the problem. I reconnected the hose and disconnected the battery for about 30 seconds to clear the error codes, reconnected the battery, and all the lights have not come back on since. Hopefully this could be your problem. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...446-p0441.html
