So while i was driving the other day i noticed my blower stopped working. i checked the fuses and they are good but i have no way of checking the relays. Has anyone here had a similiar problem or know how to check or get to the blower motor without pulling out the whole console? Thanks in advance.
Yes I have a actron obdII reader, thank you very much for those pdfs Bob. I'll go through it in the morning and hopefully figure out what's going on with it
i put the console in DTC mode and it keeps flashing 21,26,41 and the rest of the readings i don't get is there any codes description for those numbers?
no i followed the instructions and held down the auto and rr buttons and it started flashing 21,26, and 41. does it show the same numbers when you do it in your sc?
I tested mine following the diagnostic step in the PDF I attached. Error codes 21 and 24 were displayed which are about the Solar Senor. Since my car was in the garage and partially covered, those error are expected. Once it cycled through the error codes, it immediately went into actuator check because I held down the R/F switch and it cycled through the all of the vents blowing cool then warm air.
well a "bit"... but this time I let it cycle thru the errors twice, then released both buttons then pressed and released the RF button and it automatically started cycling through the vents.
ok nevermind RF is the correct one i was pushing but this time it's only giving me number 46 i looked at the trouble code sheet you gave me and it reads "Air mix damper control servo motor cir-cuit (driver side)". so what is that and how do i get to it? Thanks in advance.
OK that's not good news... If you have not done so already, the first thing to try is resetting the electronic.. Do so by disconnecting the positive terminal from the battery for 30 minutes. This may reset it.
First as the 46 error point to the Damper Servo (driver's side) that component can also be removed and tested by connecting the a positive 12v lead to terminal 7 and negative to terminal 6....this should move the lever smoothly to "COOL" side. Then reverse the connection to Positive terminal 6 and negative terminal seven. Then check that the lever turns back to warm side smoothly. If it doesn't the servo needs to be replaced.
While your at it inspect the wiring harnesses for obvious problems.
I am attaching a PDF with the component layout...if they all check out then its most likely the electronics, that's why I'm hoping a reset might work. The AC amplifier is the AC control panel and if its there sounds like a trip to lexus.
The previous PDF show you how to test the blower motor.
