This thread is intended to be a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) resource for 2002-2010 SC430 Owners. Files will be added from time to time on an irregular basis.
Unfortunately files larger than five (5) megabytes cannot be posted to the Club Lexus Website. There are two TSBs that fit that criteria that I am aware of.
They are:

• L-SB-0008-15 Reception Diagnosis using Antenna Test Kit (6272kb)
• L-SB-0025-14 Immobilizer and Smart Key Reset (6655kb)

Finally the naming conventions used... it has changed over time, but the consistent portion seems to be the last two digits of the file name which represent the year the document was published. That’s why i added a more descriptive title to the file’s name.

I just purchased a 2002 SC 430. Has 35,000 original miles on it. Should I replace the water pump and drive belt if its never been done? It has always been in Arizona or California. Lexus says it's about $1500.

Hi just purchased an Sc430 in the Uk after two days roof will not open
if I disconnect the battery then reconnect it then works
And closes normally.
It then fails again and I have to cycle the power to operate it open
I am sure this problem is common
do you have any ideas
i have noticed I have to slam the boot shut to reset the open switch

Post your problem in the discussion section below, you will get more responses. If reset the battery fixed the problem then at least your motors are ok. It’s the electronics. The only way you can know per sure is using TechStream to generate the error code during the failure.

Thanks for the reply as I was new to this type of forum I wasn't sure how to post and appreciate your advice
the problem has currently rectified itself since cycling the battery connection

Yes you should, I believe the timing belt is what they quoted you, and yes it should be replaced if it has near 70,000 mi or is over 6yrs old
