I also notice that my '07 isn't as "peppy" as my '02, especially at slower speeds or when taking off from a stop. Don't know why that is. You wouldn't think the 6 speed manumatic transmission or the slightly lower horsepower from the earlier models would make THAT much difference. It's no biggie to me, but I do notice that I have to push the accelerator down further to get the power my '02 provided.

TooCoolSC,

I'm curious, if you drive with the "ECT PWR" on if that makes a difference in initial acceleration?

Bob, I don't ever drive routinely in the PWR mode, but when I've tried it, yes, it definitely does make difference. Manual shifting (without PWR) also seems to make it more responsive, but I've wondered if that might be my imagination because it's just more fun. When you drive with manual shifting, you probably just naturally give it more gas. Of course, manual shifting in the power mode is the most exhilarating of all, but I don't do that too much.

TooCool-I think you've solved your dilemma!

PWR and Shift

When I was doing the side by side comparo between the 06 in OK and Ebony that I bought I too felt that my 02 I just sold and other 02-05's were faster or more responsive compared to the 2006+. I couldn't put a finger on it...it was just a feeling.

***have you reset your ECU yet???*** I would strongly recommend doing that to anyone that buys a new car that has a learning ECU. It did make a difference in both of my SC's and I'm a big believer in it. The granny that owned it before me had a tender foot.

SC.. I am going to wait for 1000 miles. Reasoning is, the book says not to floor it until after that time..break in the engine I guess. After that, I am resetting it.
