I have a 2002 sc430 and my stock 6 disc changer looks like it got jammed i am looking to buy another unit does anyone know the differance between these 2 units, here are the part numbers:

86120-24392
86120-24390

both are listed as mark levinsons

also there is a guy in ebay that repairs these for $150 anyone try him out?

Jammed discs are common when a disc has a label on it or it is thicker than the normal CD for some reason. The dealer replaced mine under warranty and returned the CDs by mail.

do you know if they can be repaired easily?

 

hit the side of the console next to the radio and the cd will pop out. it's not the prettiest way of doing it but you'll save a lot a money...if that works in your situation. i have had to do that on several occasions but the cds don't get jammed too often.

 

Those jammed discs are a pain,Ive found mine like to jam on the 5th or 6th disc.I have had good luck with the credit card removal system,take 1 card and slide it below the trapped disc, slide the other on top and grab the cards while squeezin together.You may have to try this a few times until you can grab the disc with fingertips.The dealer returned my Marvin Gay with a chip in the disc,telling me (NO Charge).The credit card extraction method is not my idea and has been mentioned on this board before, so this is help for newbees.
