Default Vais Installation

Anyone who installed a Vais remember if the Y-harness hangs down below the radio enough to unplug the Vais from it without removing the radio? I have an SLI, and I'm thinking of upgrading to the SL2I, but it uses a different cable (same Y-harness, different cable from Y to the Vais). I'll upgrade if I don't have to remove the radio again, but that was just too big a pain to justify!

Had mine installed about a month ago and watched the guy do it. You will have to take the head unit out to get at it as far as i can see.

The Y-cable is short and stiff (but hey, aren't we all?). It's most-likely not going to be accessible without pulling the head unit at least partially out. But, it's possible that, when it was installed, the connector end got pushed down below the head-unit.
