i'm back on my pet-project to disable the darn drl. someone had a great suggestion w/pictures to replace relay toyota part #90084-98031 w/#90084-98032. i can't find this relay/fuse anywhere in the car. please help, lonfrank
thanks guys...BUT: unit just back from houston ns lexus after 1week. (did 2000m on loaner-which they questioned-said loaner has tracker/locator & wonder what i was doin' in san antonio) dealer did $2504 ("our/their cost") on seat heater, dig dash, psi tire idiot lite & new speakers for the terrible ml audio. here's from the ticket info on drl: "can we turn off drl - unable to turn off - standard operation"!!! my platinum warranty paid 100%. w/all of the above couldn't push dealer on the drl. please help - again. lonfrank ps if you haven't please check my garage(sad deal:unit justwent over 10k had 8100(see pic) when bought in 11/09.
Well they are fibbing about "unable to turn off - standard Operation" or maybe they just don't know how... It posted the service bulletin in another thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...-my-02-sc.html here on club lexus... go to page 7 of 9 of the document.
can we turn off drl - unable to turn off - standard operation"!!!
Yep BS, its one of the items on the C-BEST settings that you can turn on/off plenty of countries like where Iam in the UK dont use DRL. Take it back or take it to another dealer.
i thanked you (v-bob) before for a bulletin from 2001. the dealer just did 2.5k in full warranty repair, i drove the loaner over 2k & just couldn't push 'em on the d...drls.
rite now i want to find that toyota/lexus relay-fuse #90084-98031(could be 98032). sorry to be soooooo ...!!!!
Save it for the next maintenance service. Show'em the bulletin... they'll be embarrassed about their lie and just do it for you. There's really no cost involved, just a couple of minutes of a tech's time to get plugged in and make the changes.
when i asked them to turn them off, they said they couldn't. so i searched this forum, found the service bulletin and told them exactly which setting it was. after that, they did it with no problems.
reply to v-bob, yep that's the part BUT where is it located on my sc??
reply to liq-sc: i will take that service bulletin to dealer BUT not til 3or4/10. by than i hope to find the location of fuse/relay #98032. thanks guys. lonfrank
The other thread was about an RX. There's no saying Lexus uses "that specific" relay in the SC430. While i'm sure they use one, who knows what number is on it. But it has to be in one of the places in the lighting diagram above. There are any number of relays that can be used: Take a look at this site: http://bbb-carb.com/std/oem-toyota/relays.htm
looks like i'm @ a dead end. doesn't anybody know where the relay is for the drls??? i guess i thought this forum was for sc430s & not some darn suv!! BUT have a good nite. lonfrank ps v-bob "who knows what # is on it"??? somebody brilliant came up w/a service bulletin that was dated 2001 surely somebody knows what fuse/relay controls the d...drls!!! & where it's @!!!
Try calling your service advisor. A lot of them are very helpful and will either check it out themselves or transfer you to the service folks to answer. I also correspond a fair amount with my service advisor via email. Their email address ought to be on their business card.
