If they touch a metal object, like a key, to the side of the car, they get 150,000 volts.
Or is that going too far?

Sorry to hear that. It happened to my old car & recently happened to my mom's RX.
An old friend of mine bused to leave a church bulletin on the dashboard of his car beleiving it might make people think twice before causing some damage. He may have been onto something because while he had the car, he didn't have any issues.

haven't had any problems with this car. but 10 years ago when i was in college, my MR2 was keyed. i was in the dorm parking lot waiting on a guy who was backing out so i could take his space. a girl in a black eclipse pulled around me and acted as if she were going to take the space. i pulled up next to her and politely said, "hey, i was already waiting on that space." she said "whatever *******" and sped off. the newt morning, my passenger door was keyed. she had vanity plates that said "JEWLZ." so i remembered her car. i called the campus police. they said she probably did it, but i couldn't prove anything. 3 months later, karma got her back and she needed a new paint job. i have no idea how that could have happened.
